A Multi-Talented Free Spirit
Miriam Johanne Thornolia Paureng is a Norwegian Mezzo-Soprano who finished a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Music at Oxford Brookes University, UK in 2020. She’s been featured in opera-choruses and small roles in operas like Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), La Traviata (Verdi), Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky), and Carmen (Bizet), and is aspiring to become a professional opera singer.
Miriam J. Thornolia has also performed numerous recitals with her university Oxford Brookes and previous college St.Hallvard Videregående Skole (course: Music, Dance and Drama), and has participated in several concerts throughout Oxford UK, and Oslo, Nedre Eiker, Lier and Drammen in Norway.
Outside of her classical area, she has performed in locally produced musicals in Nedre Eiker such as Løvenes Konge (1 and 2), Peter Pan, Robin Hood and Pocahontas together with the theatre company "NEBUT", the choir "The Local Vocals", and Celtic dancing group "Celtic Inspiration".
Miriam J. Thornolia previous teachers include Nicholas Clapton, Jorun Hermansen, Marianne Lewis, and Trine Dishington Hansen.
